1) Fiber amplification of pulse bursts at low repetition rates via synchronous pulsed pumping Download PDF File
Hamit Kalaycioglu, F Omer Ilday, Koray Eken, Seydi Yavas

"We report, for the first time, amplification of pulse‐ bursts in Yb‐doped fiber at repetition rates as low as 200 Hz for applications to accelerators and material processing. Synchronous pulsed pumping allows suppression of ASE generation."

2) Surface texturing of dental implant surfaces with an ultrafast fiber laser Download PDF File
Bulent Oktem, Hamit Kalaycioglu, Mutlu Erdoğan, Seydi Yavaş, Pranab Mukhopadhyay, Uygar H. Tazebay, Yasar Aykaç, Koray Eken and F. Ömer Ilday

"Controlled modification of implant surfaces using femtosecond, picosecond and nanosecond pulses from all-fiber-integrated lasers is demonstrated. Picosecond and femtosecond pulses offer superior control over the surface texture. Cell attachment to laser textured surfaces is discussed. "

3) Texturing of titanium (Ti6Al4V) medical implant surfaces with MHz-repetition-rate femtosecond and picosecond Yb-doped fiber lasers Download PDF File
Mutlu Erdogan, Bulent Oktem, Seydi Yavas¸ Pranab K. Mukhopadhyay, Koray Eken, Yasar Aykac, Uygar H. Tazebay, F. Omer Ilday

"We propose and demonstrate the use of short pulsed fiber lasers in surface texturing using MHz-repetition-rate, microjoule- and sub-microjoule-energy pulses. Texturing of titanium-based (Ti6Al4V) dental implant surfaces is achieved using femtosecond, picosecond and (for comparison) nanosecond pulses with the aim of controlling attachment of human cells onto the surface. "

4) Use of 1 ns-long pulses from an all-fiber-integrated laser- amplifier system in micromachining Download PDF File
Kıvanç Özgören, Bülent Öktem, F. Ömer Ilday, Ece Pasin, Koray Eken

"We demonstrate micromachining with 1ns-long pulses from an all-fiber laser. Fiber lasers generating uncompressible long pulses have been ignored as undesired operational modes, however their
robust, low-repetition-rate operation is well suited to micromachining.
"

5) Micromachining with square-shaped 1 ns-long pulses from an all-fiber Yb-doped laser-amplifier system Download PDF File
Kıvanç Özgören, Bülent Öktem, F. Ömer Ilday, Ece Pasin, Koray Eken

6) Fiber amplification of pulse bursts up to 20 μJ pulse energy at 1 kHz repetition rate Download PDF File
Hamit Kalaycıoğlu, Koray Eken,F. Ömer Ilday

"Here, we demonstrate, for the first time to our knowl edge, low-repetition rate, burst-mode operation of a Yb-doped fiber amplifier with a total signal burst energy of 250 μJ at a repetition rate of 1 kHz and average individual pulse energy of 20 μJ. . "

7) 83W, 3.1 MHz, square-shaped, 1 ns-pulsed all-fiber-integrated laser for micromachining Download PDF File
Kıvanç Özgören, Bülent Öktem, Sinem Yılmaz, F.Ömer İlday, Koray Eken

"We demonstrate an all-fiber-integrated laser based on off-theshelf components producing square-shaped, 1 ns-long pulses at 1.03 μm wavelength with 3.1 MHz repetition rate and 83 W of average power."
